A new way of writing examinations may soon be introduced in the country, as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Communication, Senator Sylvester Anyanwu, has said examinations conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) will soon be conducted for students online. Speaking at the inauguration of a community communication centre at the Government Commercial College, Zaria, Kaduna State by the Universal Service Providers fund (USPF) yesterday, Anyanwu said the online mode of conducting examinations in Nigeria's secondary schools would checkmate the incidents of students paying teachers for marks or impersonators writing exams for others.

According to him, Nigeria is doomed if the younger generation is not groomed to face the challenges of the 21st century, which is technology-driven. He said the National Assembly would continue to appropriate funds to boost the Science and Technology sector so that the youths' future would remain bright. Also speaking at the inauguration of the project, the Minister of State for Information and Communication, Alhaji Aliyu Ikra Bilbis, said the Federal Government was determined to provide ICT facilities to every corner of the country.
