22 – 10 – 2009

Matthew 21:22: And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Lesson: What is it that you require in life? It is yours for the asking. Pray, believe and receive!
Challenge: Do you pray believing God to answer, or you just do for the sake of it?

23 – 10 – 2009

Mark 11:25: And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Lesson: Unforgiving attitude could delay and even deny you of the answers to your prayers.
Challenge: If you do not forgive your offenders, how would God forgive you?

Saturday, 24 – 10 – 2009

Philippians 4:6: Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Lesson: Worry and anxiety should not be our bane
Challenge: It is easier and healthier to commit our request(s) to God in prayer rather than worry over them.

Sunday, 25 – 10 – 2009

Matthew 17:21: Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

Lesson: There are some situations that may warrant fasting (self denial)
Challenge: Where a problem seems to persist, try fasting together with prayer and it could just be the solution.

This week my subject will be on Delight. I will take a look at the gains derivable from delighting in the Lord and what God does to those He delights in. Happy Reading

26 – 10 – 2009

Psalms 40:8: I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

Lesson: The Law of God within our hearts gives us a direction to rightly do the will of God
Challenge: How much of the scriptures do you have in your heart, not just in the head?

27 – 10 – 2009

Psalms 37:4: Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Lesson: The condition of receiving our heart desires is delighting in the Lord.
Challenge: If you delight yourself in the Lord, even without many prayers your dreams will come true.

29 – 10 – 2009

Proverb 3:12: For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Lesson: As fathers correct their children out of the love they have for them, so also God does.
Challenge: When you are corrected by the Lord, it is out of love. Every punishment we get is for the wrong(s) we do (did)

I'm back and better. I'll continue the daily posts as earlier promised but I'll appreciate if it could be more discussional (i.e. having more people contribute, ask questions and even further explain the posted verses).

Thank you all.

Lesson The Lord gives various leadership positions to those He delights in.
Challenge: The purpose of the position you find yourself to do judgment and justice.

Isaiah 42:1: Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him…

Lesson: The Lord will uphold every soul that delights in Him

Lesson: Delighting in the Lord keeps us from evil and prolongs our lives
Challenge: Are you afflicted and hope to pull through? Delight in the Lord!

The principle of Sowing and Reaping (Giving and Receiving) may have been glossed over but we’ll pick it up this week.

Monday, 02 – 11 – 2009

2Corinthians 9:6: But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Lesson: The more you give, the more you get
Challenge: How much do you give out?

Tuesday, 03 – 11 – 2009

Proverbs 11:24: There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

Lesson: Trying to withhold (keep oneself or refrain) from giving will only tend to poverty.
Challenge: This sounds sarcastic but still the principle of God – (scatter-get); (withhold-lack).

You may think people are not reading, but I bet they are. So, keep doing it - don't give up - until very soon, they'll start commenting. One thing is that when it comes to the word of God, people show some look worm attitude, but when it catches up on them or when they catch the vision, there's usually no going back.

Proverbs 19:17: He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

Lesson: Pause, think again “when you pity the poor, you are lending to God”
Challenge: Is it possible to lend to God and not be repaid? Definitely, NO! NO!! NO!!!

Thursday, 05 – 11 – 2009

Galatians 6:9: And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Lesson: Doing good to all men amounts to sowing good seeds.
Challenge: Even if they seem not to notice your good deeds or appreciate enough, continue doing good because this is the condition for the reception of your reward.
