Globacom is really making wave and showing what Nigerian indigenous companies can do. The Ghana National Communications Authority (NCA) announced 17th June that after due consideration, it has decided to license Globacom as the sixth telecom operator in the country. This is good news for Nigeria and marks a major Nigerian investment breakthrough in Ghana, coming barely a week after the company rolled out its services in Benin Republic.

What do you think about the services of Globacom in Nigeria compared to MTN and Celtec?

The Ghana National Communications Authority (NCA) announced 17th June that after due consideration, it has decided to license Globacom as the sixth telecom operator in the country.  Hmnn, yes ooo, this sounds like great news for Nigeria and makes us really proud. It means, we're now exporting telecom to other countries just like South Africa is exporting to us.

This is good news for Nigeria and marks a major Nigerian investment breakthrough in Ghana, coming barely a week after the company rolled out its services in Benin Republic. So, my question is: how will this help the poor masses and will Globalcom plough back the profit to the Nigerian economy to reduce the call rates its consumers pay or will it just make Globacom owners richer and their consumers poorrer? That is my question!

What do you think about the services of Globacom in Nigeria compared to MTN and Celtec? To be honest, Glo is not bad, but truth is that Glo, MTN, Celtec, etc are all focusing on expanding and getting more subscribers rather that improving on their service to existing subscribers. This is not good for Subscribers. yes, they should spread/expand, but they should also improve on their services. Thesedays, you can barely do without hearing echoes of your own voice when making calls on MTN line. Same with other networks as well, but in all, I thing they're not doing badly.

Good one for Glo. I think there's generally room for improvement for all the Providers. Good thing is that I'm happy I can make calls from Nsukka to any part of the world today. Few years ago, this was only possible to few that had landlines installed at home/office. At least, the ordinary man can now afford to call with a few Naira to spend. In all, it'll be nice to see these service providers improve their services.
