University of Nigeria’s 39th Convocation
Holds on August 06 and 07, 2010

The 39th Convocation of the University of Nigeria will hold from Monday, August 02 to Saturday, August 07, 2010.

Over 6,000 graduands are expected to receive Higher Degrees, First Degrees and Certificates on the occasion.

According to the Programme of Activities, the ceremonies will start with a Press Briefing by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bartho N. Okolo at the Enugu Campus of the University, on Monday, August 02, 2010.

The Convocation Lecture is scheduled to hold on Thursday, August 05, 2010 at 12.00 p.m. and will be delivered by Professor Dora Akunyili, the Honourable Minister for Information and Communication at the Princess Alexandra Unity Hall and Theatre (PAA) at the Nsukka Campus. Topic: “Rebranding of Nigerian Universities”.

At the Margaret Ekpo Convocation Hall, First Degrees and Certificates will be awarded on Friday, August 06, 2010. Higher Degrees and Honorary Degrees will be awarded on Saturday, August 07, 2010. Those to receive higher degrees include His Excellency, Alhaji (Dr.) Mohammad Danjuma Goje, the Executive Governor of Gombe State; His Excellency, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State and Mr. Olutayo Aderinokun, MFR, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Guranty Trust Bank Plc.

All graduands are expected to be present in person to receive their degrees. They are therefore expected to arrive at the Nsukka Campus of the University from Wednesday, August 04, 2010. Two invitation cards will be given to every graduand for his/her guests.
Academic regalia will be available for collection from the Faculty Officers on presentation of evidence of payment of school fees and Convocation Levy of N6,000.00 payable to the University of Nigeria Account (UNN A/C No. 1132010002311) at any branch of Diamond Bank Plc.
For Postgraduates, the regalia will be available at the School of Postgraduate Studies for purchase at N18,000.00 for Ph.D., and for hire at N4,000.00 for both Ph.D. and Masters Degree. The convocation order of proceedings will also be available for sale for all postgraduate students.
All hired regalia must be returned to the Registrar/Postgraduate School by Monday, August 09, 2010.

All graduands are also required to collect copies of the Order of Proceedings, Certificate Scrolls and Certificates at the various Faculties and the School immediately after the Convocation.

39th Convocation Ceremonies

Guys, as i'm writing dis post, i'm busy eating a vry big chicken's thigh( lap). I'm abt 2 other 4 another 1. All these accompany wit a vry actractive & tempting fried rice ganished wit salad. Oh! I which u guys were here wit me. It's so unfortunate dat i cldn't attend d convocation ceremony of our dr master Phronesis sum yrs back. If i had did, oh my God! I wld av order 4 1 full chicken. Master don't worry, cos i knw u're equal 2 d task. It's gud 2 av frnds dat re graduating. Master & Hon. OZ, hope u av started preparing 4 ur convoc, cos on dat day i go flex oooooo. Oh my God! I luvvvvvvvvvv dis CoNvOcAtIoN.
