I don't understand this country anymore. How can the well celebrated N311 million NIGCOMSAT 2  be lost or "missing in orbit" as they put it. Did someone carry it in his pocket and run away with it? It is not as if our country is the first to launch a satellite so why is it only ours that is missing. i think we need more prayers in this country.

We do not only need more prayers, we also need corresponding actions. This is why we must begin to change our mindset as youths. As youths that are young at heart, we need to start positioning ourselves to be future Leaders that can do things differently. We need to start thinking of change and how we can bring change to our dear country. Things like this are not only annoying but completely unacceptable.

This change can start in our University. We need to ask ourselves, what do we want to see changed in our University? How can we restore the dignity of our University?

LOL ... remember is the celebrated Prof. P. N. Okeke, (the pride of the University of Nigeria,Nsukka. The first Ph.D the School gave)you are talking about. Well, I dont think he can be completely exonerated but Our friends in China should also have a piece of the pie. If you must also know, their Sat collided with the moon or so this week.

I've got another theory about this "missing" satellite stuff, call it conspiracy if you'll.

My theory is that this satellite never existed in the first place. The whole launch was an elaborate scam. To avoid answering some tough performance-related questions later on, it was most convenient for this satellite to suddenly disappear.

I don't think our venerable Prof has anything to do with the whole saga. He was merely a spectator being lead around by insincere government bureaucrats in the space "technology" agency in Abuja.

If our government is serious about developing space technology, why was the launch not done in Nigeria or do we have certain laws in physics forbidding launch in Nigeria?

lol. This is the most logical theory I've ever come across. You have a point here but I think people like the Prof who get involved (if he's involved) should speak out when they work on a project they've never seen with their eyes or feel in any other way.
