June 12 was another occasion for Goethe-Institut Nigeria, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Academic Exchange Service, to jointly organise the yearly debate programme for German language students from different Nigerian universities.

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, hosted participants from two universities - University of Ibadan and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife - for the talk-shop. These being the universities, where German language is offered as a major.

At the occasion, 100-level students presented poems and sketches, while 200-level students debated on the topic Transportation. Students in 300 and 400 levels deliberated on Election and Security on Nigerian Roads, respectively.

At the interval, participants were treated to music and dance by the students of the host university. At the end of the debate, points were awarded to the best student from the different groups and the university with the highest points got the challenge cup.

This year, the challenge cup went to the host school, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
