The Nigeria Football Federation, yesterday evening annonced swedish born tactician LARS LAGERBACK as the new super eagles head coach. The swede accepted a deal worth $1.7 Million (N255 Million) as salary for the four months that he would handle the Nigerian Side from March 1 to july 31. He was given a target of a semi-final finish at the world cup. Austin Eguavoen, Daniel Amokachi and Alloy Agu are touted to be the Nigerian assistants. Could it be a new dawn in the Nigerian football? or is he another Amodu with a white face? or the former German flop Berti Vorgts??

I don't buy the idea of short term appointment - we need a long-term coach who will stay with us, know our boys, understand our football and grow with us. The kind of thing we did with Westerhof.

I'm still wondering, lagerback never won anything with sweden national team when he was incharge, And he couldn't even qualify them for the world cup. How can such a coach take Nigeria to the semi's of the world cup. Lets wait and see, only time will tell.

Even though people love to hate him, i think Amodu should have gone for the world cup after which a long term coach takes over.

How come NFF jst realise dt Amodu can not perform very well in d world cup? Were they blind? Are they tryin 2 buy d tournament? Abi d guy dy use jase? Nor b teeth dm tak dy reach semi final hard work dy join. Let them jst giv him d money & hope on luck alone.
