A latest 2010 World Universities ranking of the universities is published by webometrics.info on its website
“Ranking Web of World Universities.’’

University of Ilorin, according to the ranking is the 55th in Africa and 5,846 in the world.
Other institutions in Nigeria that made the list of the best 100 in Africa were Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, which is rated second in Nigeria and 61st in Africa and 6,265 in the world.

University of Ibadan, established since 1948 as an affiliate of the University of London in Nigeria ranked third in Nigeria, 63rd in Africa and 6,396 in the World.

While the University of Jos, UNIJOS, came fourth best in Nigeria, 74th in Africa and 7,000 in the world ranking.

University of Lagos, UNILAG, was the fifth in Nigeria, 79th in Africa and 7,246 in the world. Only those five Universities in Nigeria were rated.

UNN is not underperforming. It just means that it could not make the list or that there are better universities in Nigeria AT THE MOMENT

The truth of the matter is that UNN simply has to wake up, Uni-ilorin in question did not get to that eminent position by going on strike, neither did they get there by hiking school fees, they simply got there by dint of hardwork and the collective effort of everyone in the school. Guyz b4 we talk of UNN being among or not, ve we observed that uni ilorin whch was rated number one in Nigeria is at 55th in Africa best universities?Does it mean that
Nigeria does'nt ve bitter universities that can compete among best 10 in Africa?Mehn! dis is bullshit. I dnt give a damn abt that rating.

UNIBEN used to be my senior brothers nd sisters but i tell u dey re nt organised one bit.. it took them almost a year to get a VC.... hostel accomodation Zero... in terms of academics we ve a 101 skuls ahead of dem .... so why shuld uniben be d best..... dey ve jst bin usin sentiments to give dem that position since..

1st carriers cnt be 1st 4eva cos things changes.. All universities are in constant competion 4da best in whch da weak is awarded a "tryharder nxt tyme"
It's obvious that UNN ve been awarded a 'try harder nxt tyme' and it is also obvious dat uniben has flopped.
