John 1:41 - He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. - KJV
This case is an excellent pattern of all cases where spiritual life is vigorous. As soon as a man has found Christ, he begins to find others. I will not believe that thou hast tasted of the honey of the gospel if thou canst eat it all thyself. True grace puts an end to all spiritual monopoly.

Romans 12:2 - But be not conformed to this world.... KJV

Our Goal should be to be like Jesus. The scriptures challenges us to look to Him, the Authour and Finisher of our faith. The world has only worldliness and death to offer but in Christ we have hope of a better life on earth and life eternal hereafter.

To be carnal (worldly) minded is death

"But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went down to Joppa."
Jonah 1:3 - KJV

Instead of going to Nineveh to preach the Word, as God bade him, Jonah disliked the work, and went down to Joppa to escape from it. There are occasions when God's servants shrink from duty. But what is the consequence? What did Jonah lose by his conduct? He lost the presence and comfortable enjoyment of God's love.

Jonah lost his time instead of saving it (as he thought he would by running). It is hard to contend with God; let us yield ourselves at once.

Isaiah24:15: Wherefore glorify ye the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

There are times when we are faced with the option of putting away God and cleaving to world, Though many will think of God as a merciful one (which is actually true). They feel He can always be approached for forgiveness, this is also true but here we are told to glorify God in the fires [notice the fire is plural-fires] showing that there are times when we are faced with fire-like challenges and sea-like troubles. Even in those times also known as tight-corners, we are to glorify God.

Dear Friends can you glorify God in the fires and sea? The grace of God is sufficient for YOU and ME
