Sorry Kabali but i don't like the topic i thought it was a joke but it's not,u should have said sth about the increase and not parents yes they have alot on their plate right now but calling them poor is unfair.

@amy n...poor does nt only mean when u dont hv money..it also means deserving pity or sympathy...i know wt our parents see daily...we rush 2 dem and present our demands,bt we dont care about d lenght dey go to provide it 4 us,...i ve seen police slap a poor driver until he starts crying[someones father]..bt the children will not know wt he sees everyday to put food on the table...some borrow alot to see that we go to school...

The situation is worth talking about, and not just talking but also demands urgent attention. I couldn't beleive my eyes when I saw it on the paper, there's rumour that the school fees is even 100K. I wonder why a school that calls itself "Federal" should demand so much and like my brother said, I just wonder whether they have an effective SUG??!!

I still dnt believe this. Is the increment another screening test to screen out the poor people? This is rideclous. Acceptance fee 25k for federal university. Common state universities collect below 10k, Unizik collected 7k why must Unn be 25k? SUG should help us in this situation. I am still running around to raise the 25k who knws what the sch fees will be. I hauen't had a good sleep since i heard this. Let SUG help us.

I tend to agree with Kaballi. Even with inflation, recession, etc, an increase from 5k to 25k is unacceptable! It's outrageous. I think one thing this forum serves is to collect feedback like this and pass on to the school authority. Where are our members who are members of the SUG? Hon. OZ, this sort of feedback should be escalated to the school authority through the SUG.

In the meantime, I'll suggest you all look for the 25k to secure our admission while the discussion continues.

@edith; what ministry of edu? They will support it. Didn't u hear sam egwu in his speech after the strike? He said that schs shld try and raise funds internally to finance their projects but I heard today in the news that fed. Govt will still maintain the 26% of the budget for education sector and this implies that govt is now ready to fund schs. Why is the increment? I am still confused. The issue here is not the acceptance fee but the sch fees. Let them tell us the amount now so that we will not start what we cant finish. I am still saying that i miss Nebo.
